New Cut & Strip Machine OmniStrip 9450
The OmniStrip 9450 is a compact, highly flexible cutting and stripping system for a wide range of applications and is the ideal solution for intermediate to small wire sizes. Its new user interface requires less data entry and is easy to use. Raw materials (e.g. wire type) and processes for pre-defined wire ends (e.g. multi-step stripping and slitting on leading end) are stored in separate databases, so that operators only have to combine the two parameter sets in order to program the machine. With graphical displays and simple, logical menus, even complex applications can be programmed quickly and accurately – including customer-specific “special” solutions.
Further highlights are the flexible and freely programmable interfaces to integrate the new OmniStrip 9450 in a fully automatic production line. Complex pre- and post-processes related to prefeeders, marking systems, coilers or even custom processes can be controlled and monitored by the machine. As processes can be triggered by events during production, machine state and time, sequence control is simple, yet sophisticated – making the OmniStrip 9450 simply easier to integrate in complete systems than other cut & strip machines on the market. Because the machine is all electric driven (and hence doesn’t need compressed air), production costs associated with an air supply network and compressors have been eliminated.
The new OmniStrip 9450 also features the unrivalled processing advantages of Schleuniger’s unique indexing cutter head: multiple blades can be accommodated on the same cutting axis providing for an unmatched broad application range at highest precision. Moveable guides left and right of the cutting axis allow processing of applications where wire waste pieces would pose a problem with fixed guides. Again, programming the different processing steps is simple with the OmniStrip 9450 user interface, because it enables input of more than one processing step at once. In addition, the transport units feature a high-traction belt drive for steady wire feeding and excellent length accuracy.
The machine offers high production output at a superb cost / performance ratio to yield customers a quick return on investment. From parallel processing of multiple wires at the same time, to short change-over times and an internal control system where single processes are running simultaneously, the entire machine has been optimized for high productivity. Because the wide range of available tooling from the proven PowerStrip family can be used, many special application requirements are already covered. Additionally, exchange of blades and guides is quick and simple, providing for short change-over times.
